The annual ‘Kelso Trip’ descended on Spittal during the summer months. Groups who worked in mills and industry in the Scottish Borders would come to Spittal for a day by the seaside. Until the line closed, they would arrive at Tweedmouth by train and walk down to the beach. (August 1959) BRO 1944-1-2483-7
